Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our dynamic team. This role involves working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of those they work with through evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement ABA therapy programs as designed by the supervising BCBA, including discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, and behavior reduction interventions.

  • Collect and record data on patient behaviors, skills, and progress towards goals.

  • Engage clients in therapeutic activities and social skills development.

  • Provide direct support and care to clients, adapting interventions as needed to ensure effectiveness.

  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment for all clients.

  • Collaborate with the therapy team, including BCBAs, therapists, and family members, to share progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ABA therapy.

  • Ensure confidentiality and respect for the privacy of clients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

  • Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities preferred.

  • Strong understanding of ABA principles, techniques, and ethical guidelines.

  • Excellent observational and analytical skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and team members.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive situations.

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work settings may include clinical environments, client homes, schools, or community settings.

  • Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed to meet client needs.

  • Physical demands may include kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
